Welcome
Welcome to the latest newsletter from Corporate Horticulture specialists Flora-tec. As this is the first newsletter this year, let me take the opportunity to wish you a happy and successful 2008 – hopefully you’re emerging from the cold winter months with a spring in your step!

As the warmer weather begins to arrive, the Flora-tec team focuses on readying its customers’ landscaped grounds for summer. This is a busy time for us: when the grass, hedges and plants start growing, we’re ready with the mowers and clippers! Steven Phillips, our new Exterior Operations Director, has been busy gearing up for another busy year following the outstanding growth our grounds maintenance and landscaping services experienced last year.

We’re consistently improving service to our customers, expanding both our internal and external teams to better meet your needs. Several new members of staff have joined our teams in Cheshire, the Midlands, Cambridge and Ware in the past couple of months, and we’re really pleased with their progress.

If you have any comments or questions about Flora-tec’s services or this issue of our newsletter, please contact us on 0845 345 7494 or email Amanda Smith at amanda.smith@flora-tec.co.uk .

With very best wishes,

Andy Bradley
Managing Director

News
Flora-technology
Exciting news about our brand new Site Master system! We have now received the handsets, and staff training is due to begin very soon. The bespoke software, which will help staff to organise their workload and allow customers to track our progress, will be up and running by late Spring.

We’re really proud that Flora-tec is the first UK horticulture company to use this type of technology to benefit its clients and staff.

Christmas in Springtime
Now it’s March and we’re well on our way towards summer, Christmas feels like a very long time ago. But at Flora-tec we’re always thinking about the festive season, and how we can improve our Christmas service – so we’ve already started planning for next December!

Christmas 2007 was our best yet, with our widest range of trees, plants and decorations for our clients to choose from. We sold out of two brand new tree design schemes, Bird of Paradise and Champagne Truffle, and we’re delighted that our new lines have been so well received. We’re already visiting exhibitions so that we add even more great products Christmas range this year.

Revamped website
You may have noticed we’ve been having a bit of a spring clean on the website. It’s now sporting a fresher colour scheme, and over the next few weeks we’ll be introducing a whole new look and refreshing all of the information on the site to keep you up to date with all of our products and services. So keep an eye out!

Flora-tec: friends of the environment
We’re really pleased to be working towards our ISO14001 environmental accreditation. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that is designed to address the balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact. We’ll be conducting a full audit of our business processes and their impact upon the environment, improving where necessary and creating a management programme for continual improvement.

Referral incentives with ‘floral notes’…
We’re always really pleased when our very happy clients recommend us to their colleagues and associates. To show our appreciation for getting the word out about us, we’ll send you a delicious bottle of wine from Georges Duboeuf's famous Flower Label Beaujolais series! All you need to do is refer us to somebody who subsequently places an order – so make sure they quote your name when they contact us.

And finally… Handpicked for excellence
At Flora-tec we’ve been building an excellent relationship with the hugely successful hotel group, Handpicked Hotels. Offering a nationwide service, we’re pleased to be providing landscaping and grounds maintenance for eight of the group’s sites – spanning Britain from Wetherby to Hampshire.
